On 30 September an event titled ‘BEYOND125: Securing Our World’s Digital Future’ took place in the Peace Palace in The Hague as part of the Cyber Security Week.  The event is a call to action to provide access to justice for all. During the event an action plan was launched to ensure access to cyber security services, tools, and platforms for non-profit organisations.

The CyberPeace Institute, Global Cyber Alliance, and the City of the Hague are taking the lead in this mission, and are joined by leaders, cyber experts, and philanthropists. All pledged support and underscored the importance of cyber security in safeguarding the digital future of the global peace ecosystem. A dedicated fund for the cybersecurity of NGOs was announced, to ensure their digital safety.

The programme consisted of a word of welcome by Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague. "In a world where cyber threats are as real as physical ones, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that the pillars of peace and justice are fortified against digital attacks. The Beyond 125 conference symbolises our commitment to securing a peaceful digital future for all. The Hague, a centre of expertise in everything related to the cyber world, is happy to contribute to this.

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman gave a keynote on the topic of Justice & Peace. The rest of the day consisted of a variety of fireside chats, panels and keynotes on topics related to cyber security, justice, and peace. The programme closed with a word from Saskia Bruines, Deputy Mayor of The Hague, and networking drinks to allow participants to connect further.
