As part of the Dutch Presidency of the European Union, on 12 and 13 May The Netherlands hosted a High Level Meeting on Cyber Security. At this meeting, public and private parties came together to discuss current trends, opportunities and risks in the digital domain. One of the outcomes was the signing of the Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure Manifesto, an initiative of the CIO Platform Netherlands and HSD Partner Rabobank.

At the end of the two-day conference, Patricia Zorko, Director Cyber Security NCTV, handed an infographic with the highlights of the conference to her Slovakian colleague. Slovakia will be the next chairman of the EU. Two of the main subject that were included in the infographic are the importance of public-private cooperation and of European cooperation in the field of security. These are also the reasons why HSD is organising the Security Research and Innovation Event 2016 (SRIE2016) on June 1-2. SRIE2016 is the event where industry, governments and knowledge institutions come together to discuss the latest security challenges for Europe and meet potential new business partners, key players and decision makers from the European security domain. You can still register for this free-to-attend event. HSD and TNO have also invited other European security clusters to join SRIE2016 and discuss the establishment of a European Knowledge Innovation Cluster, for further cooperation.

The Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure Manifesto was signed by 30 private parties, which committed themselves to establishing a hotline for IT leakages and further cooperation between these organisations and the cyber security community. The initiative will be led by the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE), which is housed at the HSD Campus. Parties that signed include: ABN AMRO, ENCS, Honeywell, ING, NS, NUON, NXP, Palo Alto Networks, Philips, PostNL, SAAB, SNS Bank, Stedin, Surfnet, Tennet, TNO and Vodafone.
