Exploring the Future of Cybersecurity through the Corporate Venturing Network (CVN) Event

On 17 September 2025, the Corporate Venturing Network (CVN) event was hosted at the HSD Campus. In today’s rapidly changing political and geopolitical landscape, security is more critical than ever. That is why this event was a focused gathering organised by the Corporate Venturing Network to explore pressing challenges and collaborations in today’s evolving security landscape. Security Delta (HSD) has been endorsing partner of the Corporate Venturing Network event

 

The event will opened with a networking lunch, setting the stage for a dynamic series of presentations and discussions featuring leaders from defence, innovation funding, and cybersecurity sectors. This was followed by a dynamic series of presentations and discussions:

  • Joris den Bruinen – General Director of HSD
    On HSD’s mission and recent developments in the security domain
  • Colonel Rick Peddemors – Programme Manager Cyber, Ministry of Defence
    On the relationship between cyber and the Ministry of Defence
  • Ernst Coolen – Investment Director & Team Lead SecFund BV, BOM
    On SecFund, which supports startups, scale-ups, and innovative SMEs contributing to the innovation needs of the Ministry of Defence. The fund is a collaboration between Defence, Economic Affairs, and the Regional Development Agencies, managed by the Brabant Development Agency (BOM).
  • Wouter Roelofs – Head of the Cyber Innovation Hub, Ministry of Defence
    On how the Cyber Innovation Hub scouts and validates cyber solutions for Defence
  • Djeevan Schiferli – Scout at the Cyber Innovation Hub, Ministry of Defence
    On “The Hacker Journey” – outlining the steps of a cyberattack and the companies engaged in each phase

 

An interactive discussion rounded off the programme, allowing participants and speakers to exchange perspectives and ideas.
