NATO Communications and Information Agency, HSD

This is an invitation only event.

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) recently became a member of The Hague Security Delta (HSD). The NCI Agency develops, delivers and operates IT and Communication and Information System capabilities for NATO, including those which provide NATO’s Cyber Security.

By partnering with HSD, the NCI Agency aims to define and validate different types of collaborative innovation models with HSD partners, with the objective to meet urgent NATO Cyber Security needs and to anticipate emerging threats to NATO’s Communication and Information Systems.

HSD will start building an ecosystem around specific NATO Cyber Security needs and the NATO Cyber Security Incubator Initiative, called the NATO Collaborative Cyber Security Community of Interest. The objectives of the community are to address urgent NATO Cyber Security needs, Future Mission Network requirements, and to foster new ideas for improving the Cyber Security posture of NATO and its member nations. This will bring great opportunities for HSD partners to get involved in the international domain of Cyber Security.

The aim of this meeting is to introduce the NCI Agency to HSD members; to identify HSD members who wish to collaborate with the NCI Agency in three specific focus areas; and to identify additional HSD activities which are of relevance to the NCI Agency.

Scope of the Kick-off Event
The meeting will identify three Cyber Security Incubator focus areas where NATO Cyber Defence capability may be strengthened; each based on scenarios of possible cyber conflicts in the future. Each focus area will have its own collaboration model and funding arrangements. The programme will be facilitated by the subject matter experts from the NCI Agency Cyber Security Service Line (CSSL) based in The Hague and a Steering Group made up of NCI Agency and HSD representatives to ensure quality and appropriability of activities.

The CSSL provides support to the development and implementation of Cyber Security strategies, policies and capabilities in NATO.

Folllow-up sessions

The objective for each session is to set up a Joint Task Group to accomplish tangible results within a limited timeframe. The follow-up sessions will only be open for official HSD partners.

The three focus areas are
1. Big Data Analysis for Cyber Security
2. Cyber Situational Awareness
3. Mobile Security
