In a couple weeks’ time, the Tokyo Olympics will take place. The preparations and logistics for this global event have been extensive, and the stakes are high. The Netherlands and Japan have been collaborating for several years in strengthening critical infrastructure protection in the run up to the Olympics. On the 1st of June 8:30 AM CET/3:30 PM JST, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Tokyo and HSD host an expert roundtable where Japanese and Dutch experts will discuss the threat landscape and security solutions for the protection of the energy sector and industry 4.0. We cordially invite you to join this roundtable to learn about the latest developments, solutions, and risks in this field and to build on the JPN-NL friendship.

Are you interested in learning more about the latest developments in the security threat landscape, challenges, and opportunities for innovative applications and collaborations? Attend this Expert Roundtable for the opportunity to learn what Dutch and Japanese experts have to say on the threats and developments in the field. You can register via the register button.

For Who?

We invite stakeholders from Japan and the Netherlands that are involved and interested in the protection of the energy sector and industry to join this session. Participation is expected from industry & government experts, researchers, and startups.

Topics to be discussed

Expert representatives from Dutch and Japanese organisations such as TEPCO, Enexis, Mitsubishi Electric, Forescout, ENCS, EclecticIQ, ReaQta, Compumatica and Smart Industry NL will dive deeper into cybersecurity for industry 4.0 and energy. We will touch upon topics such as ransomware attacks, threat intelligence, AI solutions, post-quantum cryptography and social engineering. The familiarity of the partners at the expert roundtable provides the chance to discuss the current state of the threats in the field, but also grow the number of stakeholders who share the same challenges.

Japan-Netherlands Collaboration on Critical Infrastructure Protection

Since 2016, in the lead up to the Olympic Games, Japanese and Dutch organisations have collaborated in developing solutions for the protection of (critical) infrastructures. Through sharing best-practices, the collaboration between Japan and the Netherlands has resulted in numerous partnerships between businesses, governments and knowledge institutions from both countries. With this roundtable, supported by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we wish to expand this fruitful collaboration.
